Sriwijaya FC Officially Returns to Gelora Sriwijaya Jakabaring Stadium as Home Base for 2025/26 Liga 2 Season
Palembang – Sriwijaya FC has confirmed that it will once again call Gelora Sriwijaya Jakabaring (GSJ) Stadium its home for the upcoming 2025/26 Liga 2 campaign.
The announcement followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PT Sriwijaya Optimis Mandiri (SOM) and PT Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) on Saturday. Representing PT SOM was its Finance Director, Ajie Syahrial Bastari, accompanied by Deputy Director of Competition I, Dwi Asa Verano. On behalf of PT JSC, the agreement was signed by Marketing and Operations Director Geri Radityo Suparudin.
“Alhamdulillah, we have officially signed our agreement with PT JSC. Next season, Sriwijaya FC will continue to be based at GSJ Stadium,” said Ajie Syahrial Bastari.
He also thanked PT JSC for their warm welcome and smooth cooperation. “Our visit was received very well, and everything went smoothly,” Ajie added. He noted that this MoU is a critical requirement for registering the club with PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) and PSSI.
Earlier on June 21, Sporting Director Anggoro Prajesta had already confirmed to Sripoku.com that the “Elang Andalas” would be using JSC facilities for their Liga 2 fixtures. “We have received confirmation for JSC usage—hopefully there will be no changes,” Anggoro stated.
This season, Sriwijaya FC will share GSJ Stadium with Sumsel United, the region’s newer professional side. Despite the shared venue, the Laskar Wong Kito have made it clear that they will always treat GSJ as their fortress.
“If Sriwijaya FC and Sumsel United play on the same day, Sriwijaya FC will remain at GSJ. We will not abandon our stronghold,” Anggoro affirmed.
Sumatera Selatan boasts two FIFA-, AFC-, and AFF-standard stadiums—GSJ Jakabaring and Stadion Bumi Sriwijaya—plus three international-standard training grounds for archery, baseball, and athletics. Sriwijaya FC’s decision to stay at GSJ underscores the club’s rich history and achievements there, maintaining its proud legacy on Indonesia’s football stage.
