Sriwijaya FC Prepares New Squad for the 2024/2025 Competition Season
Following the conclusion of Liga 2, Sriwijaya FC has swiftly initiated preparations for the upcoming season. The club’s management, led by President H Bakti Setiawan, has begun the initial steps by engaging coach Hendri Susilo to map out the players to be retained for the 2024/2025 competition season.
Indrayadi SE, the Technical Director of Sriwijaya FC, stated that they have engaged in discussions with the new coach and management to respond quickly in executing the preparation of the team for the upcoming competition.
Prior to the final playoff match of the Liga 2 relegation round between SFC and Perserang, President Bakti Setiawan had discussed the new Sriwijaya squad for the upcoming season with Hendri Susilo. Nearly 50 percent of the players under consideration for retention have significant potential for development, especially young players with good technical qualities.
Indrayadi, who also served as a former goalkeeper coach for Sriwijaya FC, acknowledged that the determination of players to be retained will involve coach Hendri Susilo. The final decision rests with the coach, as the selected players must fit his style of play.
According to Indrayadi, Sriwijaya FC requires star players who can provide support to the team in achieving the target promotion to Liga 1. The club’s president has responded promptly by forming a player recruitment team for the 2024/25 competition.
When asked how many players will be retained, Indrayadi stated that approximately 50 percent of the players under consideration have sufficient potential to be retained, and the final decision will be made after considering their performances on the field.
